Exclusive POLLOCO workshop:
Planning and formation of
intermodal logistics centres in Central and Eastern
Europe
1. Objective:
The workshop aims at co-operative elaboration of
solutions to problems hindering the development of
logistics centres in Poland and other countries of
Central and Eastern Europe, soon to become Member
States of the EU.
The workshop focused on:
-
breaking the barriers hindering creation
of logistics centres, particlarly organizational,
legal and financial issues
-
elaboration of an effective
model(s) of collaboration between private and
public sectors
- estimating economic efficiency of centres
functioning.
For the sake of clarification, the Logistics Centre
was understood here as a spatial and functional object,
together with its infrastructure and organisation,
which provides logistics and auxiliary services.
From the organisational point of view, the logistics
centre is open to all kinds of enterprises performing
their business activities using the centre's infrastructure.
Typically, it will require a public-private partnership.
2. Subjects:
- planning location,
- estimating size,
- establishing functionality,
- financing models.
3. Participants
All POLLOCO members/subscribers are welcome, particularly:

members of consortia building or planning
a logistics centre,
-
representatives of local/regional authorities,
involved in initiatives and investments in the
field of logistics centres,
-
logistics operators - future users of the
centres,
-
developers and other enterprises interetested
in investing within logistics centres.
